Nick Graves - a little bit about me
I'm Nick. I am a 23 year old modeller, illustrator and animator from Dallas, Texas.
My work
My main source of business has been doing illustrations for various YouTube channels. Most of this work has been for branding: Video thumbnails, profile pictures/avatars, banner images and icons.
In 2011, I worked with the YouTube channel The Yogscast. I made a speed drawing video for their channel. I continued to work with one of their affiliates, Sips, in 2012. I created thumbnails for him, and also assisted in a couple of special videos.
After this I discovered Mindcrack, a network of people that create videos together, mainly about Minecraft, although it has branched out. I created tons of fan art with their very friendly community.
I worked with Robert Moran, creator of Unforgotten Realms and Newgrounds videos like Splash Attack. In Fall 2014 I created album artwork for Rob and his brother Tommy Moran, for their Pokemon parody band called Moody Bidoofs. In 2015, our biggest project was Unforgotten Realms Live, a live Twitch show based around Dungeons and Dragons, but has been simplified for entertainment purposes. My job was to help with assets for the stream by creating images for tiles in Tabletop Simulator and live animated puppets for the players at the table to roleplay with.
I have moderate to advanced knowledge of various software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Flash, Toon Boom Animate, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, REAPER and Audacity.
I have been working with Photoshop for approximately 10 years, After Effects for 5 years.
